Trent + Shannon | Myrtle Beach Wedding | 2020

Trent and Shannon Hood got married in November 2020 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Shannon and I have been friends for quite some time now. At first, she lived in Massachusetts and then we got lucky and she moved here, to Georgia, about 20 minutes away from Gainesville, where we had the opportunity to be “real life friends” (lol).

I remember when Shannon met Trent. She was completely over the moon. I had never seen her so happy! I knew from the get go that this would be an amazing journey for her.

I asked Shannon to share a little about their love story so I will share that below. I am so thankful for Trent because he gave one of my most special friends happiness. It’s so beautiful to see that smile on her face. The smile of pure joy and love.

Shannon wrote:

”So we met through my best friend Morgan and the first full day together we were all hanging out at a car meet. We started dating a week later.

He (Trent) proposed on a family trip to Disney, in Epcot, on October 13th 2018. After only 7 months of dating. We originally had planned on getting married in Jamaica, but changed the idea to try and include more of our family in the special day.

We tried to plan the day to happen here in Georgia, but then everything (COVID) happened in 2020 so we cancelled the big wedding in GA due to not having even the slightest possibility of family being able to be there.

We changed gears again to a small, intimate beach ceremony in Myrtle Beach because it’s one of our favorite places to go together. And the rest is history I guess!!”

They got to spend their wedding day with around 10-15 of their closest friends and family. They even had their dogs in the wedding. (Their puppers were SO well behaved!) No, it wasn’t traditional, but it was gorgeous and SO much fun. I’ve always loved beach weddings, but this one is by far my favorite.

Nothing beats getting to see your friends happy. There were happy tears, good food, and LOTS of laughs; so many good times were had. I am so glad I got to be part of your big day, Shan. Thank you so much for that. I’ll cherish those memories forever. We love you guys!
